CDC Software and Consona Merge to Form Aptean
By Nathesh, TMCnet Contributor
CDC Software (CDC), a provider of enterprise software for on-premises and cloud deployments, and Consona (News - Alert) Corporation, a source of technology and services across a range of software application categories, have reportedly merged to form Aptean, a comprehensive enterprise application software company.
Aptean will have over 9,000 customers, 1,500 employees and a worldwide network of sales and support operations.
Both Consona and CDC have complementary solutions in key application areas, including customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM). The merger is seen as the unity of two enterprises that have similar business models and have enjoyed similar histories of success.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to deliver greater value and an even broader range of solutions to our customers,” said Scott Malia, chief operating officer at Consona. “Both companies have an extensive history in the enterprise application software market and will combine valuable and insightful industry expertise with complementary, high quality products.”
The newly formed Aptean hopes to deliver a bold competitive edge – the Aptean Edge – to its customers. The Aptean Edge is supposedly modeled from solutions reflecting industry best practices, and services specifically focused on helping customers meet their individual business goals, profitably.
The solutions from Aptean are going to be tightly focused on specific industry segments, providing specialized value and capability where others cannot.
Officials with Aptean commented that the merger supports their business model and fits with their strategy by increasing Aptean’s exposure in well-defined vertical markets. As Aptean, they look forward to further developing their relationships with the customers of both CDC and Consona.
The company will be committed to protecting customers’ software application investments through continued enhancement of all its existing software platforms, while developing new products, features and delivery capabilities.
